About the Role Join Squadron Energy as a Project Engineer – Stay in Business (SIB) and play a pivotal role in delivering sustaining capital projects that maintain, upgrade, and enhance our renewable energy and gas firming assets. Reporting to the SIB Project Manager, you’ll work across the full project lifecycle—from concept to close—ensuring asset reliability, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. This is a generalist engineering role with a strong focus on governance, technical support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll be part of a dynamic environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and the integration of emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities Deliver SIB sustaining capital projects from concept through execution, aligned with asset management strategies and governance standards. Develop and maintain governance tools and processes (stage-gate frameworks, risk registers, cost/schedule management, lessons learned, quality assurance). Prepare and present project status reports, risks, and outcomes to management and stakeholders. Identify and prioritise SIB project opportunities in collaboration with Engineering & Optimisation and Operations teams. Engage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including asset management, operations, design consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Drive continuous improvement and integrate sustainability and AI best practices into project delivery. Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project objectives. About You Minimum 5 years’ project experience, ideally in renewable energy (wind experience highly valued); oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry experience also considered. Proven ability to deliver projects from concept to execution, including governance and technical support. Strong understanding of asset performance, optimisation, and operational environments. Skilled in project management tools and systems (e.g., MS Project, SAP) and methodologies (PMI, Prince2, or similar). Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and process improvement mindset. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems/Automation, Renewable Energy, or related discipline).
