The position is based in the McGill Engine Centre (https://www.mcgill.ca/engine/), in collaboration with the Clinical Innovation Platform at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (CLIP - https://rimuhc.ca/clinical-research/clinical-innovation-platform-clip). The location of work will be evenly split between McGill and CLIP. Position Summary: McGill Engine in collaboration with CLIP is launching a new program co-funded by the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie, “Health Innovations Catalyst” (“INNOVSANTE”), for multidisciplinary research teams from Quebec universities interested in commercializing their research in the fields of: therapeutics, diagnostics, digital health, surgical tools, tools for drug discovery and development, and medical devices. We aim to accelerate and increase the number of innovative startups in the fields of medtech and life sciences in Quebec by creating a unique, tailored, and favorable ecosystem of all essential stakeholders. The Program Manager will lead the design, promotion, implementation, and growth of this project, bridging between researchers, students, startups, the program Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, hospitals, and program partners. This position is ideal for a passionate professional with a strong understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Quebec, in particular, universities, and of the health sector. Primary Responsibilities: Program Promotion and Delivery Participate in the development of the new Health Innovations Catalyst program and refine its framework, including the program application and selection process. Provide faculty and staff information regarding program policies and information about program requirements Update content for promotion of the new program and its website. Develop new content in collaboration with partners (MBAs, clinicians, industry and investor partners, etc.) Develop key performance indicators tracking system Tailor the program to the Québec academic ecosystem and researcher needs, including ensuring all relevant documents and materials are available in French. Work with other business incubators and support adjusting the program as the needs of researchers across Quebec become more evident Team Support & Portfolio Management Support teams participating in the program Monitor and track teams’ progress in conjunction with the development plan put in place with the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence. Identify any problems or delays to facilitate improvements. Collect, analyze, assess, and summarize information and develop recommendations for final approval and implementation Stakeholder Engagement Build partnerships with university hospitals, research centers, business accelerators, ministries, and investors Organize and promote networking events, workshops, and pitch sessions Operations & Budget Management Organize and participate in Steering Committee meetings Manage program budget, reporting, and resource allocation Ensure compliance with university policies and funder requirements Marketing & Outreach Promote the program within Quebec universities, teaching hospitals, and externally Represent the program at conferences, forums, and innovation events Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Strong management and advanced communication skills Experience in project and/or program management within Quebec university or hospital environments. This includes experience in managing project/program budget, reporting, and resource allocation Experience in communicating and collaborating effectively with a variety of stakeholders: students, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, web applications, social media, CoPilot, and project management tools Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Proficient in designing and marketing programs and events Familiarity with tech transfer and research commercialization Familiarity with Québec’s health sector (biotech, medtech, digital health).
