(Internally known as Technical Lead.) This is a rare opportunity to build a training, coaching, and competency programme from the ground up — shaping how our clean water scientists learn, develop, and grow for years to come. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about people development, loves finding creative ways to make learning engaging, and has the confidence to work independently while building strong relationships across the team. Experience in water process science is desirable, but the most important thing we’re looking for is the right attitude: someone who can inspire others, drive chartership, and create an exciting learning culture. You will have the freedom to design a complete development journey for our scientific community — from core skills to specialist modules, from digital resources to hands‑on training sessions. You’ll bring people together, support their learning, and help them achieve their professional ambitions. What you will be responsible for: • Designing and delivering training across water treatment topics • 1‑to‑1 coaching for new starters • Supporting chartership pathways • Conducting competency assessments • Developing specialist training (site audits, filter assessments, jar testing, dosing, RGF turbidity, etc.) • Managing development resources (competency framework, SharePoint, guides, training videos, etc.) • Running development sessions at team meetings What you’ll bring to the role: • Scientific, engineering or water process background is essential • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills • Confidence to innovate and develop video, multimedia and AI based training material • Creativity and independence in designing training • Passion for people development • Ability to deliver engaging learning sessions • Desire to support professional development and chartership • Good organisation and enthusiasm for improving materials Join us and help shape the future If you’re someone who loves developing others, enjoys thinking creatively about learning, and wants to make a real difference to both people and water quality, we’d love to hear from you.
