  • Job Title: Production Planning Capability Lead
  • Location: Portsmouth
  • Salary: Up to £64,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for SQEP capability development and evidence for Maritime Services Manufacturing and Operations staff, across geographically located sites by ensuring suitable SQEP assessments, checks, documentation and reviews are consistently utilised
  • Provide a competence and skills views for a 5 to 10 years that will be embedded into future Manufacturing resourcing strategies. Accountable for the tools and training that allows planners to increase their SQEP level and support future development
  • Lead the recruitment, induction and training of new planners into the business to meet demand
  • Create and update the planning curriculum to meet current and future SQEP needs of planners that align to the PP&C framework
  • Manage and update the planning standards and guides used to support learning
  • Produce the process for SQEP audits on PP&C outputs that ensure compliance to internal governance and look for opportunities to improve competency and skills of our internal workforce
  • Work with planning managers across the business to optimise internal resources that will share best practice
  • Provide a resourcing input into the IBP planning cycles which are undertaken twice a year
  • Responsible for producing the annual training requirements (Utilising SQEP systems) and outputs for all Manufacturing and Operations areas ensuring training budgets are agreed and then deliver to plan

Your skills and experiences

  • Experience in Production Planning and Capability management in a large-scale environment
  • Able to advise, coach, and lead other team members as part of daily responsibilities, providing technical advice & guidance as well as support on development training, identifying high potential talent within the teams you operate across and in relevant Businesses and Disciplines
  • Ability to complete company assessment and development processes for professional staff & to identify current/future skills gaps
  • Experience in engaging and communicating effectively and in a timely manner with customers and stakeholders both internal and external to the business
