Product Safety EngineerClient: BAE Systems Location: Glascoed, South Wales (Hybrid)Contract: 12 months, 37 hours per weekHourly Rate: £53.90 Umbrella (Inside IR35)Security Clearance: BPSS + SC in flight About the RoleBAE Systems Land (UK) is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to support our engineering team in delivering safe, compliant products within the defence sector. You will play a key role in ensuring product safety through hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance with MOD safety standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Safety & Environmental Case (SEC) documentation.Create and manage Product Hazard Logs.Conduct safety reviews of engineering designs to ensure alignment with internal frameworks and MOD safety standards (e.g., Def Stan 00-056, DSA 03.OME).Support project teams with safety-related input for bids and designs.Perform hazard analysis techniques including FMEA and FTA.Contribute to the delivery of conforming, safe products. Skills & Experience (not all essential) Experience with the engineering lifecycle.Familiarity with UK MOD standards (Def Stan 00-056, DSA 03.OME).Demonstrated ability to produce technical safety reports and ALARP argumentsDegree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering disciplineStrong communication skills with the ability to convey technical safety information to varied audiences.
