This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing or environmental health professional to support the delivery of statutory private sector housing functions and help improve housing standards across the district.The RoleYou will play a key role in improving housing conditions and protecting residents’ health by inspecting private sector properties, assessing hazards, and taking appropriate enforcement action where required.Key Responsibilities Respond to service requests and complaints relating to private sector housing conditionsCarry out property inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)Identify hazards and prepare schedules of work, notices, and remedial actionsTake enforcement action where necessary and monitor complianceInspect and assess Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) for licensing and standardsSupport Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) assessments and housing assistance processesMaintain accurate records, reports, and statistical informationLiaise with landlords, tenants, contractors, and partner agencies Requirements Experience inspecting domestic properties and enforcing housing standardsStrong working knowledge of housing legislation and HHSRSExperience within private sector housing, environmental health, or a similar regulatory roleGood knowledge of building construction and property defectsStrong commun
