You will partner with enterprise clients to ensure the stability, scalability, and optimization of their PostgreSQL-based data platforms. The position involves guiding best practices, troubleshooting complex environments, and mentoring others within the support function. You will play a key role in incident resolution, analytics-focused support, and technical enablement, helping customers maximize performance in cloud-native and hybrid infrastructures. - Accountabilities
As a Principal Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include
- Providing expert-level support for PostgreSQL-based data solutions across diverse client environments.
- Leading and coaching a specialized analytics-focused support pod to strengthen technical capabilities.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, prioritizing and managing multiple open cases while ensuring timely resolution.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing database performance issues, integrating monitoring solutions, and improving reliability.
- Designing troubleshooting strategies for containerized solutions in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Escalating unresolved issues to internal teams while driving incident management under pressure.
- Developing documentation, runbooks, and best practice guides for internal and customer use.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with development, product management, and sales teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
The ideal candidate will bring
- 10+ years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in data warehouse solutions focused on PostgreSQL.
- Deep knowledge of SQL parallel processing, data warehousing concepts, and analytical query optimization.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise, including architecture, YAML configuration, Helm, and cloud-native deployments.
- Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), as well as storage provisioning.
- Hands-on scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML) and programming (C, C++, Java, or .Net) experience.
- Strong experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and intermediate/advanced knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift.
- Ability to mentor junior/mid-level engineers and lead critical incident calls.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills, with a focus on ownership and accountability.
- Preferred: Red Hat Linux certification (RHCE), PostgreSQL Professional Certification, OpenShift Administrator certification, or exposure to AI/ML and GenAI applications.
