The Role:
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide crucial classroom support across the primary age range, focusing on fostering independence and reinforcing core skills. This role is central to the smooth operation of the classroom and the targeted progress of individual pupils and small groups.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directly support the class teacher in delivering planned lessons, assisting with demonstrations, and managing resources effectively.
- Lead small group interventions focused on foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, tracking progress accurately.
- Assist with the preparation and tidying of the classroom and learning resources, ensuring a stimulating and organised environment.
- Supervise children during directed activities and free play, maintaining vigilance for safety and promoting positive social interactions.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or specific learning difficulties, working under the guidance of the SENCo and class teacher.
- Liaise professionally with the teacher regarding any observations of student progress, behaviour, or well-being concerns.
- Assist with routine administrative tasks such as photocopying, mounting displays, and recording student data.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a warm, resilient, and highly dependable individual who loves working with young children and is committed to fostering a love of learning.
- Relevant experience working with children aged 4-11, ideally within a classroom setting.
- Exceptional patience and a calm demeanour, particularly when supporting children who require extra help or have complex needs.
- Demonstrable aptitude for supporting literacy and numeracy at the primary level.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching & Learning Support (or equivalent experience/qualification) is highly desirable.
- A reliable and punctual work ethic, recognising the importance of consistent presence for the children.
- The ability to take direction effectively but also to show initiative when appropriate.
- A strong commitment to upholding safeguarding procedures and promoting the well-being of all pupils.
