Primary School Teacher in an SEN School
Are you an exceptional primary school teacher ready to make a profound impact in a nurturing and specialised learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our team at a highly regarded primary school for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Our school is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. We cater to students in Years 2 to 6 who have specific communication and social interaction needs, primarily associated with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We use a holistic, strengths-based approach to education, focusing on developing our students' independence, social skills, and academic potential.
You'll be part of a collaborative team of educators, therapists, and support staff who are all dedicated to helping our students achieve their full potential. The role involves delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum that meets the diverse learning needs of our students. We emphasise a personalised learning approach, using a variety of teaching methodologies to ensure every child feels successful and confident.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning tailored to students with ASC.
Differentiate instruction effectively to support a wide range of academic and social needs.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and a proactive, positive behaviour management approach.
Utilise data-driven instruction to monitor student progress and inform teaching practices.
Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Essential experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition.
