We have immediate demand for tutors in Business Studies, Psychology, and Politics, but we welcome applications from specialists across a various range of A-level subjects.
You will work to build students' academic confidence, critical thinking skills, and overall success. Sessions can be held on school premises, at students' homes, or in public spaces (such as libraries). With flexible hours ranging from 1 to 15 per week, you will have the opportunity to form long-term, meaningful relationships with students, offering consistent and expert support throughout their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver expert one-to-one or small group tuition sessions in your specialist A-level subjects.
Develop and implement bespoke lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning style and target areas for improvement, in line with specific A-level exam board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
Provide targeted support for exam preparation, including revision techniques, past paper practice, and honing essay skills.
Foster a positive and intellectually stimulating learning environment that builds students' confidence and encourages a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
Work effectively with students who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting your teaching methods to ensure learning is inclusive and accessible.
Maintain clear and professional communication with students (and their families where appropriate) regarding progress, goals, and development.
Requirements:
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching at A-level in Business Studies, Psychology, Politics, or other subjects.
A strong, in-depth understanding of the current A-level curriculum and exam board specifications.
A degree in a relevant subject is highly desirable.
Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young adults.
Must hold a current Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one before employment commences.
Benefits:
Flexible working hours to suit your availability and preferences.
The opportunity for long-term tutoring relationships, allowing you to make a lasting impact.
Competitive hourly rates based on experience and qualifications.
A supportive, inclusive work environment.
The ability to work in a variety of settings across the Wirral.
If you are an experienced and passionate A-level tutor who thrives on making a positive difference in students' academic growth, we would love to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your CV, clearly stating the A-level subjects you are confident in delivering.
