Policy, Improvement and Risk Manager Hourly Rate: From £25 per hour PAYELocation: RotherhamJob Type: Full-time We are seeking a Policy, Improvement and Risk Manager to support our client, a local authority in Rotherham, in shaping its direction and improving services. This role involves developing policies linked to Council priorities and statutory duties, identifying risks, ensuring action plans are in place, and monitoring Council Plan performance. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Policy, Performance and Intelligence and will play a key role in driving best practice and value for money within the Council. Day-to-day of the role: Deliver high-level advice and guidance in policy and risk management.Create Council-wide strategies and ensure customer-focused service delivery.Set clear objectives, manage risks, and monitor performance.Respond to political pressures and adapt plans accordingly.Drive best practice and value for money.Lead major change initiatives and manage outcomes.Build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.Manage budgets and resources effectively.Lead and develop a team of professionals.Oversee the production of performance reports and link them to budgets and change programmes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in corporate performance risk management.Ability to review and implement risk management approaches.Proven ability and experience in using corporate governance systems.Leading policy development and corporate planning.Managing performance reporting and improvement plans.Researching and analyzing data to inform policy.Risk management and governance processes.Successful culture change and team leadership.
