Hours: 4 hours per week

Working Pattern: Weekends only (preferably Saturdays; Sundays can be considered). Exact times will be discussed at interview.
Rate of pay: £12.60

Location: Great Sankey

About the Role:

We are seeking a caring, patient, and reliable Personal Care Assistant to support an 7‑year‑old girl with autism, both at home and out in the community. The role focuses on supporting her independence, ensuring her safety, and helping her take part in enjoyable social and leisure activities.

She is a happy and sociable child who loves interacting with others, but she can become overwhelmed quickly and may need calm reassurance and close supervision. She walks independently; however, when out in the community she uses her Mobiquip Mobility pram as she becomes tired easily. Because she has limited awareness of danger—particularly around vehicles—she requires constant supervision, especially near roads or in busy areas.
When the PA begins, support will take place at home for the first few months. Activities in the community (such as visits to the local park and shops) will be introduced gradually as she becomes more confident. While holding a driving licence is helpful, it is not essential at this stage.

Main Responsibilities:

· Supporting the child in developing independent living skills
· Assisting with meals (she eats independently but may express hunger at any time)
· Providing personal care when required, including regular prompting to use the toilet
· Escorting her on outings and supporting participation in social and leisure activities

Personal Requirements
· Experience working with children or young people with autism
· Physically fit and able to ensure the child’s safety in busy or unpredictable environments
· A full driving licence is desirable
· Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check (provided free of charge)

How to Apply:
