About

Personal Assistant to Founder – Flexible, Part-Time, Growth Opportunity Location: Remote Hours: Starting at 2 hours per week for an initial 3 month period (with potential to grow into a full-time role) Pay: $5–$10 per hour (depending on experience) About the Role I’m looking for a proactive and ambitious Personal Assistant to join me, Ben Sweet – founder of TruffleForager.com, TruffleFestival.co.uk, and creator of The Truffle Dog Club (Skool community). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and eventually become a key member of my small but passionate team. Training will be provided (and paid), so no specific experience is required—just the right mindset and attitude. We’ll start small: just 2 hours per week for an initial 3 month period. Please note this isn’t 2 hours in one go usually—most weeks will require you to dip in and out for short bursts (for example, when moderating our community group every day or so - e.g. for 10 mins per time). Larger blocks of time will usually only be needed when you’re in a learning phase (training in new skills) or working on more complex projects. This will also include working over many weekends (for short periods). If you’re the right fit and hungry to learn, this role has the potential to expand into a flexible, well-paid full-time position where you’ll grow with the business. Responsibilities: Your role will evolve over time, but initially you’ll help with: - Handling and organising emails and responding on my behalf when needed. - Communicating with clients, partners, and collaborators. - Engaging with and moderating our online community group (The Truffle Dog Club). - Supporting with personal admin tasks to help me stay organised and on schedule. As you gain confidence and skills, you may take on more tasks such as: - Helping with social media scheduling and content creation. - Supporting events and workshops (virtually). - Learning tools like Canva, video editing, and other online platforms. About You You don’t need a long CV or fancy qualifications for this role. What matters most is who you are. I’m looking for someone who is: - Ambitious and eager to learn – you’ll be given lots of training and support. - Organised and reliable – deadlines and schedules are important. - Honest and trustworthy – integrity is non-negotiable. - Good English skills – strong written and spoken English is preferred. - Digitally minded – comfortable using online tools (email, social media, etc.). - Proactive – someone who takes initiative, not just waits for instructions. - Polite and hardworking – someone who genuinely wants to add value. Bonus skills (not required but nice to have): - Canva or design experience. - Video editing skills. - Experience with online communities or customer support. Values We’re Looking For - This isn’t a short-term gig—it’s about building something meaningful together. The right person will be: - Trustworthy and respectful – someone I can rely on. - Committed to growth – improving not just their work, but their own life and their family’s life. - Team-focused – looking to add value to our business, our community, and our clients. - Willing to go the extra mile – not someone who is selfish or short-term focused. Why This Role? - Flexible work – start small and grow your hours as the role (and your skills) expand. - Paid training – you’ll learn valuable skills while being paid. - Real growth opportunity – potential to become a key team member in a unique, passion-driven business. - Exciting industry – work in the world of truffle hunting, events, dogs, and community building. About Me I’ve been an entrepreneur for 15+ years with a strong digital marketing and sales background, and my current focus is building a community-driven business around my passions: dogs, truffles, and mushroom foraging. Through events like the UK Truffle Festival, the Truffle Dog Championships, and the Truffle Dog Club community, I’m creating something special. I want someone alongside me who sees this as more than “just a job”—a chance to grow into something bigger, develop new skills, and truly be part of a team. How to Apply If this sounds like you: - Introduce yourself and tell me why you’d love this role. - Share any relevant experience (even if it’s not directly related). - Highlight one area you’d love to grow or learn more about. - If you make it to the next stage, you will be set set a small task to complete before you will be considered. 👉 This is a unique opportunity for the right person to start small, grow fast, and build a career in an exciting, flexible role. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
