  • Join us as a Pension Trustee Manager You’ll lead the Pensions Executive Support function, providing expert governance and secretariat services to Trustees of seven of the bank’s pension schemes, covering around 100,000 members and assets of over five billion pounds, making sure every decision safeguards member outcomes You’ll be the primary contact for scheme Chairs, managing Trustee relationships and business plans while ensuring every meeting and decision is delivered with precision You’ll have the chance to shape strategic decisions, expand your governance influence, and position yourself as a trusted leader in the future of pension management This is a remote-first role, so you’ll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally and coming into the office twice a month when you need to collaborate closely with your colleagues What you'll do As a Pension Trustee Manager, you’ll be the trusted governance expert guaranteeing our schemes run smoothly and meet regulatory standards. You’ll provide high-level secretariat support, manage the business of each Board, and oversee budgets with internal and external senior stakeholders. Acting as a key liaison with the sponsoring employer, you’ll keep administration and technical issues on track while safeguarding compliance and efficiency. You’ll also play a key role in building, maintaining, and managing key stakeholder relationships with internal and external advisors, including administrators, actuaries, investment consultants, legal and communication advisors, while monitoring service standards and contractual agreements. You’ll focus on: Operating all aspects of pension scheme governance, including delivering agendas and meeting papers, implementing regulatory changes, maintaining scheme documents, business plans, risk registers, and effective systems of governance Leading the development of a communications strategy and preparing member communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged, including Plan branding, website redesign, colleague listening sessions, and improved educational resources with positive engagement metrics Driving risk oversight for schemes and upholding compliance with all benefit policies Managing individual member cases referred to the Trustee with accuracy and care, including complaints escalated to the Trustee Internal Dispute process or via the Pensions Ombudsman Overseeing and managing the exercise of Trustee discretions to ensure fair and consistent outcomes The skills you'll need In this role, you’ll combine technical knowledge with the ability to influence at the highest level. You’ll bring deep expertise in pension legislation and scheme operations, alongside strong relationship management skills that help you navigate complex stakeholder environments. Your commercial awareness and customer focus will make sure every decision balances compliance, cost efficiency, and member outcomes. Your strength in building strong partnerships and maintaining clear communication will be key as you connect complex processes with practical solutions. You’ll also be expected to work well autonomously, making sound decisions under pressure and keeping integrity as the anchor of the way you work. You’ll also bring: An appropriate professional qualification and in-depth knowledge of pension legislation and regulatory frameworks Significant post-qualification experience working with Trustees or third-party administrators of pension schemes Strong ability to coordinate, manage, and influence multiple stakeholders effectively Commercial acumen and a strong customer focus to deliver balanced, value-driven outcomes Experience in pension or corporate communications, with the ability to convey complex information clearly Hours 35 Job Posting Closing Date: Job Posting Closing Date is not yet published.
