About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Central Finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll across our UK and Ireland operations. You’ll be working closely with HR and Finance teams, external providers, and hotel managers to deliver a seamless payroll experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance checks in line with the Time & Attendance (T&A) platform
  • Review and process weekly and monthly payroll for UK & Ireland
  • Monitor and report on Company Sick Pay, Maternity and Paternity Pay, and other statutory payments
  • Liaise with external Troncmaster to ensure compliance and accuracy of Tronc payments
  • Respond to payroll queries and provide timely resolutions
  • Coordinate payroll-related benefits such as pensions and health insurance
  • Ensure adherence to HMRC regulations and internal audit requirements
  • Support HR and Finance teams with payroll-related tasks and projects
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures to internal stakeholders
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation
  • Generate and analyse payroll KPIs to support strategic decision-making
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities with Regional Financial Controllers and Central Finance
  • Provide training and support to hotel teams on payroll systems
  • Contribute to payroll forecasting and budget planning
  • Stay up to date with UK and Ireland payroll legislation

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of the Payroll System ‘Fourth’ is essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar payroll role
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and payroll-related policies
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, confidential, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
