Full time, 12-month fixed term opportunity Great opportunity to join The University of Sydney’s Human Resources function Base Salary $89,755 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Payroll Officer will be responsible for a broad range of data entry and payroll related activities which will contribute to efficient payroll operations and service delivery. You will respond to enquiries and maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring compliance with procedures, policies and legislation. Your key responsibilities will be to: facilitate ongoing communication with a broad range of stakeholders, proactively addressing any concerns, and collaborating with team members to continuously improve stakeholder relations reconcile payroll transactions, such as long service leave, redundancies, severance payments, sick leave, and workers' compensation, ensuring accuracy and compliance collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related inquiries, provide necessary documentation, and support audits and compliance requirements interpret awards, agreements, and contracts and communicate relevant information to ensure accurate implementation assist with reconciliation transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance perform accurate and timely payroll activities, including data entry, processing payments, and generating payroll reports. About you previous experience in payroll administration experience in interpreting and applying legislation and enterprise agreements demonstrated experience in a high volume customer service environment previous experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures excellent and communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and facilitate discussions Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
