  • We’re recruiting for a Payroll Controls and Governance Analyst to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. At Legal & General, we’re committed to delivering good customer outcomes through resilient, accurate, and timely payroll services. As a Payroll Controls and Governance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our payroll processes are well-controlled, compliant, and transparent. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to reduce risk, support operational resilience, and maintain our trusted reputation with customers and regulators alike.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and circulating reconciliation KPI dashboards for Payroll and wider leadership
  • Supporting control attestations and maintaining records of control failures and risk events
  • Shaping and improving controls frameworks across core payroll processes and systems
  • Coordinating the creation and review of reconciliation and operational process guides
  • Reporting on outstanding reconciliations to support balance sheet management
  • Embedding Conduct Risk principles to ensure good customer outcomes
  • Advocating for risk culture best practice and collaborating with risk and complaints teams
  • Assisting with operational resilience, incident management and governance-related projects
  • Qualifications

Who we're looking for

  • Experience or understanding of pension payments and working knowledge of key regulatory bodies, including HMRC and FCA
  • Demonstrating knowledge of end-to-end payroll and reconciliation processes
  • Applying basic payroll and accounting reasoning to support controls and reporting
  • Using intermediate to advanced Excel skills for analysis and dashboard creation
  • Presenting information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders
  • Building strong relationships across teams to support governance and compliance
  • Good Retirement Income knowledge (desirable)
  • Familiarity with FCA Treating Customers Fairly and Consumer Duty requirements (Essential)
