Interim Parking Operations Manager Contract: Interim Level: Senior operational leader Location: Hybrid - office attendance required twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Fridays) Rate: Up to £600 per day Start: ASAP About the role This senior role leads day-to-day delivery across parking services - from civil parking enforcement and penalty processing to property/asset maintenance and service performance - under the Traffic Management Act 2004. You'll manage teams, budgets, suppliers and KPIs; handle escalated complaints and high-profile issues; and work closely with Members, partners and senior officers. Key responsibilities Ensure compliant, efficient delivery across enforcement, processing, assets and projects.Lead operational reviews and process redesign; drive continuous improvement; contribute data-led insight to shape a modern parking service.Manage contracts and procurement; monitor performance and budgets; resolve escalated complaints and service issues.Build relationships with partners and represent the service at regional forums; brief senior stakeholders and Members. Essential experience Senior management experience within parking or highways services (parking experience desirable but not essential); redesigning processes and leading transformation.Contract management, performance and budget control; confident stakeholder engagement including elected Members.Strong grasp of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and relevant transport legislation; excellent written and verbal communication.
