It starts with you. Our Outpatients Department at Chichester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Outpatient Administrator. As the first point of contact in the department you’re responsible for welcoming patients and ensuring they have the information they need. Providing effective and efficient administration the role supports the Outpatient Team in the day-to-day running of the department. Continue your journey with us whilst we’ll support you to be your best. As our Outpatient Administrator, you will: Show excellent customer service skills by greeting patients. Handle patient & consultant queries, escalating appropriately. Check and prepare all clinics for the day, including labels and clinic lists etc. Manage the Outpatient Department inbox. Use our IT System to ensure patient information is kept up to date. Liaise with the wider hospital team. Answer incoming telephone calls. Book follow up appointments using our IT system. Support consultants and radiology by adapting to and fulfilling individual clinic requirements. Scan relevant documents and upload onto patient notes Quote patients for blood tests. Provide admin support to the clinical team. Ensure all required standards and time scales are met. To succeed as an Outpatient Receptionist, you will need: As the first point of contact for many of our patients, you will need to be polite, professional and be able to show empathy and to be the patient’s ambassador. Excellent communication skills and ability to disseminate information. Excellent interpersonal skills. To have a positive outlook to change, ability to adapt and have a flexible approach. Ability to work under your own initiative. Experience of working in a customer-facing environment. Computer literacy – Microsoft skills are essential. Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is a 30 bedded hospital within walking distance of the city centre with free onsite car parking. The hospital has two laminar flow operating theatres and two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department. There is a small radiology department and CT/ MRI services are provided in a mobile unit. Inpatient physiotherapy is provided within the hospital whilst our outpatients attend the fitness and wellbeing centre at Chichester gate for their follow up physio and hydrotherapy treatments. Our main speciality is orthopaedics. We also care for patients needing treatment within the specialties of gynaecology, urology, general surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology max fax, and pain.
