Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily transport operations to ensure all vehicles are planned, managed, and utilized effectively and profitably.Act as a primary point of contact for staff during shifts, providing guidance and resolving operational issues.Liaise with drivers, internal teams, and external customers to ensure smooth service delivery and address delays or challenges promptly.Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive and driver hours regulations when allocating jobs.Monitor and manage subcontractors and agency staff to maintain service quality and budgetary control.Ensure accurate job pricing, timely closure, and invoicing of completed work.Maintain and update operational spreadsheets and records to reflect service standards and performance metrics.Implement and refine operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to the team, promoting company values and a collaborative culture.Step in to cover resource gaps when necessary to maintain continuity of service.Skills & AttributesStrong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.High attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.Practical knowledge of driver hours regulations and compliance requirements.Solid understanding of the logistics and transport industry.Proficient IT skills and professional telephone manner.Positive, proactive, and solution-focused attitude.Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.Problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational challenges.</
