- About the role
- As Sonder’s Nurse Unit Manager (UK), you’ll lead our UK tele-triage nursing team, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care. You’ll provide clinical guidance, operational oversight, and mentorship to a team of experienced nurses. The role is central to maintaining excellence in clinical standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all activities align with Sonder’s governance frameworks and the requirements of UK regulatory bodies.
- Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this 12-month contract role is responsible for leading the nursing team, maintaining clinical excellence, and ensuring compliance with all governance and regulatory standards.
- What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be responsible for managing daily nursing operations, fostering a culture of accountability and care, and supporting Sonder’s commitment to high-quality tele-triage services.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and guidance to the UK tele-triage nursing team.
- Maintain high clinical standards, ensuring compliance with NMC regulations, the Manchester Triage System (MTS), and safeguarding protocols.
- Oversee service delivery to ensure timely and appropriate triage and escalation of member care.
- Conduct performance reviews, develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and support professional growth across the team.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing competency assessments.
- Drive operational improvements and contribute to clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Australia and the UK to enhance care delivery and service innovation.
- Manage rostering, workload distribution, and surge response protocols to maintain service coverage.
- Lead internal projects that improve nursing processes, training, and member experience.
- Who are we looking for?
- We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate clinical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving telehealth environment.
What you bring to the team
- Current and unrestricted NMC registration with a valid nursing qualification (Bachelor of Nursing/BSc Hons or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years’ clinical experience, including time in telehealth, emergency, or acute care settings.
- Previous experience in Nursing leadership or management.
- Strong knowledge of UK clinical governance, including CQC standards, NICE guidelines, and safeguarding.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate teams.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms, digital health tools, and remote clinical environments highly desirable
