Network Engineer

Duration- 6 Months Contract Inside IR35

Day rate = £500 - £550

Hybrid Working (offices Based in Sheffield/ London)

Position Overview:

A well known Banking/ Financial client is looking for a Network Engineer within the IT Operations team, they will be technically responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of their hybrid network infrastructure. You will focus on ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of network services across physical data centres and our Azure tenancy, working in tandem with managed service providers to achieve operational targets.

Key Technical Domains:

• LAN/WAN Infrastructure: Full accountability for Layer 2/3 switching and routing across office locations. Management of WAN circuits and internet links, including performance monitoring against SLAs.
• On-Premises Security: Configuration, policy management, and maintenance of enterprise-grade firewalls to secure the corporate network perimeter and internal segments.
• Azure Networking & Security:
• Architecture and administration of Azure networking constructs (Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, UDRs).
• Deployment and rule-set management for Azure Firewall and Web Application Firewall (WAF) to secure cloud-based applications.
• Secure Connectivity: Implementation and support of IPsec VPNs (site-to-site) and SSL VPNs (remote access), ensuring compliance with authentication and encryption standards.
• Network Operations: Proactive monitoring and performance analysis using enterprise tools. Lead troubleshooting efforts for connectivity and performance issues across the hybrid environment.
• Compliance & Documentation: Uphold rigorous documentation standards, including network diagrams, configuration baselines, and change management records, to satisfy internal audits and regulatory requirements.
