Woodsons is a premium residential building and renovation company operating across Dorset. Our work is carried out in occupied homes and is defined by planning, care, and high standards of finish.

We are looking to bring on a reliable, multi-skilled site operative to support our projects on a consistent, long-term basis. This role suits someone who takes pride in their work, values structure, and is comfortable working as part of a small, professional team.

The Role

You will support the day-to-day delivery of residential projects under clear direction.

Key responsibilities include:

• General building works and making good
• Basic carpentry (1st & 2nd fix – skirting, architraves, doors, boxing-in)
• Decorating (preparation and finishing to a good standard)
• Site setup, protection, cleanliness, and end-of-day reset
• Collecting and returning materials from local merchants
• Supporting site flow and resolving small issues as they arise
• Maintaining a respectful, professional presence in clients’ homes

Requirements (Essential)

• Competent across carpentry, decorating, and general building
• Clean, full UK driving licence
• Comfortable collecting and transporting materials
• Own basic tools
• Reliable, punctual, and well organised
• Able to follow instruction and work as part of a small team
• Lives within 30 minutes of Dorchester
• Self-employed with UTR number
• Right to work in the UK
• References available

Pay Structure

• Flat day rate: £140–£160 per day, depending on experience
• Based on an 8:00am–4:30pm working day
• Rate review following a successful trial period, with opportunity for progression as responsibility and trust increase

This is not an hourly or labour-only role.
