Overview

  • We are seeking a Middle Office Vice President to join our dynamic team. This role covers a broad range of trade support functions, with a primary focus on our Convertible Arbitrage desk (convertible bonds). The successful candidate will have deep expertise with convertible bonds, including the bond conversion process and corporate actions, and will work closely with the Portfolio Management team to ensure seamless trade execution and operational efficiency.

  • Key Responsibilities & Impact
  • Trade Support & Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee trade capture and ensure accurate booking across systems.
  • Manage and process corporate actions and bond conversions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage upcoming proxy votes and experience with ISS Broadridge
  • Risk & Control
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in monitoring risk platforms and troubleshooting issues.
  • Monitor affirmation platforms and ensure all risk and booking details are correct.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, and external counterparts to ensure trades are allocated and settled efficiently. -Liaise with counterparties to confirm corporate actions and communicate status updates clearly to the trading desk.
  • Process Improvement & Automation
  • Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through technology.
  • Collaborate with the wider Operations team to build out automation solutions.

Our future colleague has these skills

  • At least 4 year’s experience in a finance environment which must include experience in convertible bonds
  • Experienced and confident in managing and processing all types of corporate actions; The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with counterparts to ensure the correct processing of corporate actions in a timely manner and will also be required to communicate back clearly and concisely to the desk the status of all such actions
  • An interest and some experience with coding, ideally Python, is preferable.
  • Strong familiarity with the trade lifecycle and relevant controls
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with a Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Candidates should have a keen interest in process improvement

  • The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
