The Role: Connecting Cultures
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proficient Modern Foreign Language Teacher to join a dedicated team. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range (e.g., Key Stage 3 to advanced level exams) in [mention the specific language(s) you are seeking, e.g., French and Spanish]. Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in the target language(s), focusing on the four core skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Assess student progress rigorously, providing detailed feedback and implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.
- Develop and maintain a positive, immersive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages daily use of the target language.
- Organise and lead extracurricular MFL activities, such as language clubs, film screenings, or cultural trips, to enrich students' experience.
- Contribute actively to departmental curriculum development, resource creation, and the promotion of languages across the school.
- Utilise and integrate appropriate technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards, language lab software, online resources) to enhance teaching and learning.
- Attend and contribute to department and whole-school meetings, embodying the school's professional ethos.
What We Are Looking For
- Fluent or native proficiency in the language(s) to be taught (e.g., French or Spanish).
- A relevant university degree and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven successful experience teaching MFL at the secondary level (up to advanced qualifications).
- Excellent subject knowledge, including a deep understanding of the culture, history, and current affairs of the target language countries.
- The ability to employ a variety of effective pedagogical approaches (e.g., communicative methods) to suit different learning styles.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage behavior effectively.
- A commitment to collaborative working and continuous professional development.
