We are working with a well established family run manufacturing business who due to a period of continued growth are looking to appoint a mechanical engineer. The successful mechanical engineer will play a key role in guiding, supporting, and developing the mechanical engineering function across a range of projects and business initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring all mechanical design activity is executed to an exceptional standard, meets relevant regulations, and aligns with wider organisational goals. The role Provide expert technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional project teams.Produce and maintain robust technical documentation, design histories, and engineering reports.Drive research and development initiatives to enhance product performance, improve manufacturing efficiency, and advance engineering capability.Identify opportunities for process improvement within the mechanical engineering function, promoting best practice and innovative approaches.Collaborate closely with internal teams-including electrical, software, production, and quality-to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.Lead and support the mechanical engineering team, overseeing daily workloads and ensuring effective resource allocation across multiple projects.Manage the delivery of compliant mechanical designs, ensuring appropriate component selection, adherence to engineering standards, and alignment with project requirements. Skills & Qualifications Proficient in component selection, CAD software, and mechanical analysis techniques.Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders effectively.Proven track record of leading engineering teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.Strong knowledge of design compliance, regulatory framewor
