Secondary Maths Teacher - Southport
Due to high and critical demand across our secondary schools, we are urgently seeking dedicated and Qualified Maths Teachers to start in the coastal town of Southport, Merseyside.
This is a vital, rewarding opportunity for a highly skilled Maths professional to leverage their expertise in a high-priority subject area, supported by a world-leading recruitment partner.
Location and Pay:
- Location: Southport, Merseyside, North West, UK- PR8, PR9
- Daily Pay Rate: £150 to £220 per day
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning & Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons for students across Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14) and Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16), including GCSE preparation.
- Assessment & Feedback: Assess, mark, and record student work, providing constructive and timely feedback to facilitate academic progress.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment, managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure all pupils can learn.
- Pastoral Care: Potentially take on the role of a form tutor, offering guidance and support on academic and personal matters.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Maths Department and wider staff on curriculum development, resource sharing, and whole-school initiatives.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with parents/carers during parent's evenings and as needed, reporting on student performance and progress.

Skills Needed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for permanent and long-term roles in maintained schools.
- Excellent subject knowledge of the secondary Maths curriculum (KS3/KS4).
- Proven ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners (mixed abilities, SEND, EAL).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills for planning and administrative tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
