Are you an experienced Material Planning Analyst looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting 12-month contract opportunity to join a reputable global manufacturer based in Peterlee. This facility is the worldwide source for articulated trucks used across mining, construction, and aggregates industries. You will be working in a state-of-the-art environment that utilises the latest computer analysis techniques and robotic technology to ship machines to customers around the globe.
Location: Peterlee - up to 15% travel mostly within the UK visiting suppliers
Contract: 12 months
Pay Rate: £18.85 - £20.85 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00 or Friday 07:30 - 12:00 or Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 Friday 08:00 - 12:30 ...
As a Material Planning Analyst, you will be crucial in ensuring material availability for facility production. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, production schedulers and operations personnel to support the facility's production goals. This role is responsible for supporting the alignment of inventory accuracy and the analysis of the Engineered Value Chain from the source of supply to the facility dock.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilise MRP and supplier collaboration technologies to plan the delivery of material and regulate inventory levels.
Ensure the timely delivery of materials to the facility.
Collaborate with suppliers to coordinate delivery and shipping schedules to meet production plans.
Actively resolve supplier delivery issues , identifying and applying root cause corrective actions where needed.
Support supply chain performance efforts by monitoring and tracking supplier performance metrics.
Deliver improvements in point of use material availability.
Provide clear and accurate verbal and written communication with all internal and external partners.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
A strong material planning background.
Familiarity with material planning systems and concepts.
An understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Proven ability to schedule and expedite parts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good numerical skills and good attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to operate within a team environment.
Well organised and able to work to production deadlines.
Computer literate, particularly in Excel.
An understanding of company policies and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications:
APICS or other Supply Chain qualification.
A college or university degree (or equivalent), preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management.
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles.
