About
About the role
- We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join us as a Marketing Communications Manager on a 15‑month fixed term contract, covering a period of maternity leave.
- As a key member of our Corporate Communications team, you will lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications strategies that elevate the profile of our Real Estate sector—building standalone brand equity while supporting wider firm‑level growth and business development objectives.
- You will also take on responsibility for developing the firm's direct to client content workstream and support the wider Real Estate practice group.
- Your work will align closely with the wider Corporate Communications plan, ensuring activity is consistent with the firm’s overall strategic priorities and areas of focus. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive marketing and communications service designed to strengthen market awareness through impactful brand activity, while also supporting the sector’s sales pipeline through targeted, sector‑led initiatives.
- You will play an integral role in shaping and articulating the sector’s core messages, ensuring the Gowling WLG brand is championed and protected across all communications. Collaboration sits at the heart of this opportunity, as you work closely with colleagues across events, digital marketing and internal communications to deliver cohesive, high‑quality activity that reflects firmwide priorities and contributes to a strong and consistent presence in the market.
About you
- We’re looking for someone with strong multi-channel marcomms experience, ideally gained in a professional services environment, who understands how effective communication supports business goals. You’ll be proactive, confident advising on what works, creative thinking and clear, solutions‑focused guidance.
- You’ll bring a calm, diplomatic approach — someone who listens, asks the right questions, and can influence when needed. Strong copywriting and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to showcase work confidently to partners and internal teams.
- You’ll be comfortable working independently or as part of a team, managing multiple demands while staying organised, focused and proactive. You’ll also be able to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Alongside this, you’ll bring experience managing internal resource, including overseeing a dedicated real estate communications executive. Degree‑level education or equivalent experience is required, paired with a positive attitude, flexibility and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
