Growing@field28 are looking for an EXPERIENCED grower to join us growing on a small 2 acre plot in Daresbury Cheshire.

The successful applicant will have vegetable growing experience on a small commercial scale. Knowledge of no till and organic techniques is an advantage.

A knowledge of indoor growing of microgreens is an advantage but not essential . We supply microgreens to leading restaurants around the uk via our distributors.

The Grower will work to deliver seasonal growing plans and support the team during harvest and field work. The farm supplies our onsite shop and cafe with high quality seasonal vegetables as well as our restaurant in Chester.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our land for the years ahead.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and Saturday in rotation with other team members. We operate flexible working hours that suit the needs of our employees and the business through the seasons.

Key Responsibilities

- Working to create seasonal growing plans

- Maintaining our indoor and outdoor growing areas..

- Keeping both the indoor and outdoor areas of the farm clean and well ordered.

- Assisting the team during day-to-day operations

- sowing, planting and harvesting of a range of heritage produce.

- Liaising from chefs and wholesalers

Personal Specification

Essential

- Minimum 2 years experience of commercial vegetable growing

- Experience in a market garden setting.

- Extensive knowledge of mixed vegetable production.

- Proficient in use of garden machinery including walking tractors.

- The ability to carry out horticultural tasks quickly and efficiently.

- An active interest in small scale growing and food.

- The ability to communicate well with team members and the general public.

- Physically fit with the ability to work in all weathers.

- Clean Driving License.

Desirable

- Experience growing and working with cut flowers.

- Background in the food industry.

- Experience in organic food production.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
