  • Job Description Manufacturing Engineer - Core Assembly - Submarines Full-Time Derby (Hybrid) As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, a Manufacturing Engineer is expected to influence new designs using New Product Introduction tools to ensure manufacturability and continually improve upon existing product designs, then translating these into world class processes which meet business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery. What you will be doing: Responsible for advising the business on Process Safety, provision of arrangements to manage high consequence complex hazards, facilitate improvement programme and assure Process Safety compliance. Support the business manage its COMAH risks and compliance with COMAH regulations. Maintain good risk management, including up to date business risk profiles and recommend risk-based improvement programmes, consistent with business or wider programmes as appropriate. Ensure HS&E critical controls are identified, managed (including through appropriate maintenance programmes) and effectively assured. Set expectations and lead by example on the HS&E Journey to Zero Harm. Lead improvements to process safety by proposing and implementing changes. Co-ordinate risk-based assurance, including compliance with legal and other requirements.. Support delivery of good HS&E governance across the business, including the HS&E Accountability Framework, in partnership with management. Position Qualifications: To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is/has: You will have a degree, or equivalent, in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in a manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering background Experience of complex assemblies and measurement techniques of critical classified components. Experience of producing production level documentation packages. Strong interpersonal skills working within a high performing ME team, as well the wider operations team. You will have strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques You will be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff You will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels For more than 60 years Rolls-Royce Submarines has designed, supplied and supported the nuclear propulsion plant, providing power for all UK Royal Navy nuclear submarines.
