  • Job Overview
  • TerraCycle is looking for a talented candidate with a track of record in B2B sales to join the Business Development Team of TerraCycle’s Europe Commercial Division to build new business partnerships and relationships with clients, with a specific focus on the UK market. The Commercial Division is specialised in providing transactional recycling solutions to multi-industry clients including life sciences/pharmaceuticals, distribution and manufacturing. TerraCycle supports a wide range of hard-to-recycle waste streams such as PPE, office supplies, eyeglasses, mixed production waste, etc.
  • The Business Development Manager will be supporting the growth of the European Commercial business by leading the development of new partnerships through identifying new contacts and leads across a variety of stakeholders groups (such as procurement, facility, supply chain and sustainability contacts), conducting outreach and presentations and developing compelling commercial proposals for both existing and prospective customers.
  • This position is based in London, UK. The Business Development Associate will report to the VP, Business Development Europe and will closely collaborate with the wider Business Development Team and cross-functional teams across TerraCycle.
  • Primary responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for TerraCycle through proactive, targeted outreach
  • Conduct daily prospecting activities, including cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and the use of contact databases
  • Research, qualify, and evaluate potential new partners
  • Develop and deliver tailored, client-specific presentations showcasing TerraCycle’s offering, presenting virtually or in person when appropriate, in collaboration with local and global Business Development teams
  • Conduct on-site visits at client and TerraCycle’s locations when relevant
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales pipeline, from initial engagement to contract execution and final sales quotation
  • Maintain accurate account records and update the CRM system consistently
  • Stay informed on trends and developments within the recycling and sustainability industries
  • Identify and develop new revenue-generating opportunities for TerraCycle
  • Contribute to the evolution of the role, with potential progression into team mentoring and management
  • Requirements
  • Desired Qualifications/Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in B2B sales within waste management, sustainability, professional services, industrial sectors, or retail
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proven track record of success in competitive B2B sales, combined with a consultative, solution-oriented selling approach
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to execute sales strategies in a fast-growing environment
  • Experience managing sales pipelines using CRMs, forecasting, prioritizing opportunities, and delivering against KPIs, revenue targets, and margin objectives
  • Experience navigating procurement processes and adapting to different sales cycle models
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project coordination skills, managing multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organisational levels
  • Strong listening, negotiation and objection-handling skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative
  • Familiarity with waste management, recycling, circular economy, sustainability solutions
  • Understanding of UK and EU environmental regulations is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe
  • Fluency in French is desirable, Fluency in English is essential.
