  • Job Description
  • As an experienced Looker developer, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining key reporting and analytical solutions, within our Data Distribution and Analytics department.
  • We are looking for an experienced Looker developer that is eager to help shape how the Business leverages data, with a focus on the transformative potential of AI in data and analytics.
  • In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing and maintaining reporting and analytical solutions. You will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of the Looker platform, creating faster, simpler and more robust data models and dashboards, to further enable data driven decisions across the Business.
  • You will also be exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions, insights, automation and optimisation. If you're passionate about data storytelling, driving innovation through insightful analytics and leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, we want to hear from you.
  • This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
  • Qualifications
  • Extensive commercial experience with Looker and LookML.
  • Experience designing and developing Looker data models and dashboards.
  • Strong data profiling, visualisation and analytical skills.
  • Accustomed to working with large and complex datasets is desirable along with an in depth understanding of performance monitoring and query tuning.
  • Experience training developers in Looker and LookML and sharing best practices.
  • Able to translate complex business requirements into simple, actionable insights.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and reactive environment.
  • Extremely methodical with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commercial experience with BigQuery, SQL, GIT and JIRA.
  • Additional Information
  • Designing, building and maintaining high quality reporting, visualisations and data extracts using Looker, BigQuery and SQL.
  • Developing Looker Explores and Dashboards that process, aggregate and reconcile vast amounts of data into highly optimised and insightful solutions.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of the Businesses data and KPIs, translating them into effective Looker models and visualisations.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot underperforming Looker queries, Explores and their underlying data models.
  • Training developers in Looker and LookML and sharing knowledge on best practises.
  • Conducting QAs to ensure Looker code (LookML) and dashboards are accurate and performant.
  • Suggesting and implementing improvements to streamline existing data processes and Looker reporting.
  • Developing Looker solutions in line with departmental standards and LookML best practices.
  • Taking responsibility for the creation and maintenance of relevant documentation for Looker models, Explores, and Dashboards.
