- Job Overview
- Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated Prison Services Pharmacist to join the team at HMP ISIS in South-East London. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide clinical pharmacy services within a secure environment, supporting offender health and wellbeing while ensuring safe and effective medicines management.
- You will work closely with pharmacy technicians and healthcare teams, delivering clinical services on-site and acting as the responsible pharmacist in the dispensary when rostered.
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide weekly clinical pharmacy services to allocated prison sites in line with SOPs.
- Act as responsible pharmacist in the dispensary when rostered.
- Conduct medication reviews, MURs, and support formulary compliance.
- Collaborate with primary care teams to ensure safe prescribing and medicines use.
- Monitor prescribing trends and contribute to clinical governance and medicines management committees.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Previous experience in clinical pharmacy (prison or secure environment experience desirable).
- Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and formulary management.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
