A fantastic opportunity is available with a warm and welcoming family based in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

You will be caring for two children—a cheerful and lively three-year-old girl and her one-year-old baby brother—while also supporting the family’s household routines. The family also has a friendly Labrador, so a genuine love of dogs is essential.

Although Mum and Dad occasionally work from home, this is primarily a sole charge role. They are looking for someone kind, positive, and nurturing who would enjoy becoming an important part of their family life.

The hours of the role will be (49 hours/week):

Monday 06.45 – 17.45
Tuesday, 07.45 – 18.45
Wednesday 06.45 – 17.45
Thursday 07.30 – 21.30
Friday 09.00 – 11.00

Any additional ad hoc hours required will be mutually agreed and paid and paid as overtime.

The parents would like their children to enjoy a healthy balance of learning and play. They love being active outdoors—whether in the garden, at the park, or on other adventures—while also enjoying indoor activities such as reading stories, playing games, singing, arts and crafts, and baking. You will also have the opportunity to take the children to various clubs and activities (such as library story time, soft play, and meeting up with their friends, etc.), supporting their social development while ensuring they are always safe and happy.

In addition to caring for the children, you will help the family stay organised. The role includes light household duties, such as family laundry and ironing, keeping the children’s bedrooms and playroom clean and tidy, maintaining a tidy kitchen, and running errands. While the family has a weekly cleaner, support with keeping the home running smoothly between cleans—such as emptying the dishwasher or vacuuming when needed—would be appreciated. You will also ensure groceries are well stocked.

You will be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals for the children, ideally home-cooked as often as possible, and involving the children in meal preparation when it’s something they enjoy.

The family requires a safe and confident driver with a clean driving licence and access to a fully insured car. Duty mileage will be reimbursed.
