Lifeguard (Zero-Hours) Location: BrightonSalary: £15.13 per hour, inclusive of holiday payBrighton College are seeking to appoint Lifeguards on a zero-hour basis. Main Purpose of the Role: The primary purpose of this post is to take responsibility for the safety of swimming pool users. Applicants will need to have an up to date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and at least six months lifeguarding experience.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a constant surveillance of pool users and recognise and react to signs of danger.Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of pool users.Carry out emergency rescues and treatments until medical staff arrive.Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users.Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users.Ensure timetabled sessions are set up and cleared away promptly.Cleaning duties, as required, on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest standards of presentation (supported by the cleaning team).Assist with sports equipment set ups and supervise activities.Be familiar with the College's Health and Safety Policy and its application to all site facilities.Any other reasonable management request.Person Specifications:The successful candidate will be:Customer focused with a passion for providing exceptional service.Driven and enthusiastic.Able to play an active role as part of a team.Able to work effectively unsupervised and complete set tasks.Able to follow Brighton College's Policies and Procedures.Able to remain calm in emergency situations.Able to use own initiative and have a can-do attitude.
