We are looking for a dedicated, motivated, caring individual with a great sense of humour, to join our team.

This is a 12 month maternity position starting in February (there may be the possibility of a permanent position).

Monday to Friday – 8.30am -3.00pm - term time only.

The main key duties of the role are:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
  • Respond to children’s needs and interests, extending children’s learning through play.
  • Help to providing a creative and engaging learning environment for all children, contributing to and implementing the curriculum.
  • Be a proactive member of the team, providing a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
  • Carry out the role of the key person and implement the daily routines of the Pre-School.
  • Be able to observe children during play and link those observations to the EYFS.
  • Promote good practice and be a reflective practitioner.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare
  • Maintain and promote a positive image of the Pre-School to children, parents and visitors.
  • Support the Pre-School’s management team to deliver high-quality care and education in line with the setting’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with regulatory standards

Skills

You will need the following: -

  • A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above and 2 years proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage confidently with children, parents, and team members
  • A good knowledge of the EYFS and have a commitment to ongoing training and development.
  • Be good team player with flexibility and initiative.
  • Ability to organise activities that stimulate learning and development
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine passion for working with young children
