- An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to undertake a training contract in a busy, commercial in-house legal department. Our trainee programme provides an excellent opportunity to train and engage with an exciting variety of legal challenges and gain commercial experience at one of the world’s largest technology companies.
- The United Kingdom is one of Bosch’s largest and most diverse jurisdictions for commercial sales and manufacturing. The Bosch UK legal department advises each of Bosch’s divisions, including: Mobility, Consumer Goods, Energy and Building Technologies, and Industrial as well as working on projects such as advertisement campaigns, global projects and mergers and acquisitions.

The trainee will develop and apply skills set out below with a view to meeting the Statement of Solicitor Competence as required by the SRA
- Communication skills: communicating (oral and written) to a range of recipients both in the UK and abroad.
- Drafting: drafting variety of legal documents including commercial contracts, advise to clients and court documents.
- Advising/Interviewing: taking part in or running meetings/interviews with supervision (both internal and external);
- Legal Research: researching a variety of legal issues including product safety, competition, data protection, advertising, intellectual property and company law;
- Negotiation: observing and conducting negotiations (i.e. contract negotiations) under supervision
- Advocacy and oral presentation: advising on pre-trial procedures, being involved in presentations or delivering in-house training to Bosch business divisions.
- Dispute Resolution: assisting with the preparation of cases, attending hearings/alternative dispute resolution meetings; and
- Case and Transaction management: assisting on larger transactions or running smaller transactions with supervision.
- In addition, the trainee will learn a range of soft skills such as teamwork, networking, time management and managing workload.
- The successful applicant will be supervised by a senior member of the Bosch legal team in the UK and support a number of in-house lawyers working for each of the Bosch divisions.
- Qualifications
Candidates should have
- completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or Solicitors Qualifying Examination Part 1 (SQE1) 1or currently in the process of doing the LPC or SQE1 with completion prior to 2 September 2024;
- a 2:1 degree;
- previous legal vacation scheme, paralegal or in-house legal experience;
- an active interest in commercial and company law;
- an ability to manage deadlines;
- good communication and administration skills; and
- IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Additional Information
- This is a 24-month internship beginning in July 2026. This position is open to undergraduate students who are required to partake in a work placement as part of their course.
- Location: you will be based at the Denham office.
- Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to participate in a face-to-face interview by the hiring team and/or an online assessment centre.
- You must have the right to live and work in the UK when you start your placement and for the full duration of your placement. Please note your placement must be directly relevant to your course to comply with visa requirements.
