About

At Bromford Flagship, our purpose is to enable people to thrive. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for an experienced Legal Consultant (Charging) to play a leading role in our property security charging team.

As the lead property lawyer and subject matter expert in charging and securitisation, you’ll ensure our homes are ready to be charged and our loans are fully secured, enabling us to deliver on our treasury and investment goals.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the charging and securitisation work that underpins the group’s financing and refinancing activities. You’ll supervise and support junior team members, develop and implement effective processes, and strengthen collaboration with our treasury and investment teams to deliver an efficient end-to-end charging service.

This is a permanent, full-time role with flexibility built in. You’ll be based at one of our main offices in Tewkesbury, London, or Norwich, with some travel across our geography and the option to work from home regularly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading on charging and securitisation for financing and refinancing activities.
  • Providing strategic legal advice to the treasury team in line with the Group’s strategy and business plan.
  • Supervising and training junior colleagues on securitisation and property charging work.
  • Designing, developing, and continuously improving charging processes across the Group.
  • Managing relationships with external solicitors to ensure value for money and efficient delivery.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for charging and securitisation across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

  • A qualified solicitor or legal executive with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in land law, commercial property, conveyancing, landlord & tenant law, and real estate finance, ideally within the social housing sector.
  • Proven experience of charging and securitisation work.
  • Experience of supervising or managing others.
  • Excellent IT skills with a positive approach to change and innovation.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across finance, investment, and treasury.
  • Able to complete a basic DBS and consumer check

The closing date is 5 October with first stage interviews taking place 10 October.

If you’re a driven property lawyer with a passion for making a difference and the expertise to lead on securitisation and charging, we’d love to hear from you.
