We are looking for a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bolton for the foreseeable future. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs) and Autism / ASD to make a lasting impact.
You'll be working with students from Year 1 to Year 6, in small, mixed-need and mixed-age classes. The ideal candidate will bring patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills, along with the ability to build trust and positive relationships.
What You'll Do:
Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to pupils with SEMH and ASD needs
Support classroom engagement and emotional regulation
Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to create a safe, inclusive environment
Encourage social, emotional, and academic progress
What We're Looking For:
Experience working in a PRU, SEMH, or specialist SEND setting
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Understanding of Autism, ASD, and trauma-informed practice
A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach
