We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) team. This role is essential in providing tailored support to students with a range of needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve independence.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work primarily on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within mainstream classes and dedicated support sessions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- In-Class Support: Provide direct, differentiated support to students with SEN (e.g., ASD, Dyslexia, SEMH) to help them understand and complete learning tasks.
- IEP/EHCP Implementation: Support the class teacher and SENCO in implementing strategies outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
- Resource Adaptation: Help create, adapt, and prepare resources to make them accessible and engaging for supported pupils.
- Behaviour and Emotional Support: Assist in managing challenging behaviour, promoting positive social interaction, and offering emotional support to improve self-esteem and focus.
- Progress Monitoring: Observe, record, and report on the development, achievements, and barriers to learning experienced by supported students.
- Liaison: Maintain effective communication with the SENCO, class teachers, parents, and external professionals (e.g., speech therapists).
What We Are Looking For
We are searching for a patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual who is deeply committed to the principles of inclusion and student well-being.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience (paid or voluntary) working with children or young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs.
- Excellent Literacy and Numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent is highly desirable).
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a genuine desire to champion the success of vulnerable learners.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively on a range of tasks.
- The ability to follow direction while also demonstrating initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant training or qualification in supporting pupils with SEN is an advantage (e.g., Makaton, Team Teach, specific learning difficulties awareness).
