Lead Procurement Officer Required Contract Length: 3 months+ Location: East Midlands Remote (once a month onsite) Rate of Pay: Negotiable Venn Group are looking for a Lead Procurement Officer to work for a Local Authority in the East Midlands The successful candidate will be responsible for: Lead the procurement of high-value contracts within an assigned sub-category (c.£25–75M per annum) in line with UK Procurement Legislation and Council Contract Procedure RulesProvide expert advice and guidance on complex procurement exercises, ensuring compliance, governance, and risk managementChallenge service specifications and sourcing plans to ensure Value for Money and alignment with corporate strategyLead negotiations with suppliers and ensure robust commercial and contractual arrangements are in placeSupport the Category Manager in developing procurement strategies, sourcing plans, and tender documentationDrive continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across procurement activitiesPromote equality, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability within all procurement and contracting practicesManage and develop a small team of Procurement Officers and Assistants The successful candidate will have: Extensive experience leading end-to-end public sector procurement activities and tendering processesStrong understanding of UK Public Procurement Regulations and Contract Procedure RulesMCIPS qualification (or equivalent experience) To secure an interview for this excellent opportunity apply with an up to date copy of your CV as soon as possible.
