About Us

  • We are a start-up on a mission to accelerate the energy transition by building the best project modelling software to enable our users to make intelligent energy decisions.
  • Our software models the physical and commercial nuances of energy projects both behind-the-meter and front-of-meter. This includes modelling renewable energy generation, battery energy storage, flexibility and different commercial arrangements.
  • We are a SaaS company filled with motivated software and energy nerds with customers around the world and offices in Australia, the UK and Germany. We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Lead Analyst - Modelling and Markets to join our team.

Who we’re looking for

  • We are looking someone with deep energy market expertise in at least one major European energy market - that expertise will include technical understanding of wholesale, ancillary and balancing market design and operation as it relates to energy investments, particularly battery storage. Additionally, the role requires hands-on experience in modelling and data analytics for energy markets.

Your work as Lead Analyst - Modelling and Markets will cover the following areas

  • You will be the primary technical interface between the business and the modelling team, understanding and interpreting often complex energy market concepts into well defined modelling requirements
  • Responsibility for testing and validation of new modelling features
  • Close collaboration with product managers, software and data engineers, and data scientists to understand and address customer needs.
  • Writing and maintaining internal technical documentation

To be successful in this role you will (have)

  • Expert knowledge in at least one major European energy market
  • Significant experience in modelling energy project investments
  • A technical background, and be very comfortable understanding python, pull requests and automated tests
  • Fluency with time series data, and data analysis
  • Experience with BI tools, data visualisation, and techniques
  • Excellent communications skills, particularly around complex technical topics.
  • Flexibility in working hours to ensure overlap with the existing modelling team based in Melbourne, Australia
  • Structured prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
  • Right to work in the UK

We’d also love it if you have

  • Some experience with modelling, simulation and optimisation (LP, MILP)
