We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working Commercial Labourer to join our team on an exciting new commercial project in Appleby. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a busy and professional site.
About the Role:
As an experienced labourer, you will be an integral part of the site team, supporting various trades and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting skilled tradespeople (e.g., Bricklayers, Joiners, Groundworkers) with their tasks.
- Site clearance, tidying, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Loading and unloading deliveries of materials.
- Moving materials around the site as required.
- Basic demolition and strip-out work.
- Rubbish removal and waste management.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.
- Adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations on site.
- General ad-hoc duties to support the site management team.
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Labourer on commercial construction sites is essential.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices on a construction site.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Own PPE (hard hat, safety boots, high-vis vest).
- Preferably own transport, or ability to reliably commute to the Appleby-in-Westmorland area.
