The Role
Do you want to make a difference to children and young people? The role of Keyworker is vital in working with schools, children and families to promote regular attendance and access to education.
You will be responsible for investigating irregular attendance and circumstances where children are missing from education and provide intensive support and challenge to children and their families, where appropriate undertaking the role of lead professional.
The role will also involve the coordination of parental responsibility measures to ensure parents fulfil their duties under section 7 of the Education Act 1996.

About You
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people. The successful candidate must have experience of working with both Primary and Secondary schools and have the ability to engage with and involve children and families in identifying and overcoming barriers where there is irregular attendance at school.
You’ll work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll need to meet deadlines and have significant experience of working with children and young people. You’ll have fantastic communication skills and be able to build and sustain relationships with children, their families and other professionals, providing a high level of impactful intervention to give the children the best chances in life.
You will need experience of working with hard-to-reach families and have a track record of being able to motivate, encourage and support them to play a stable role in their communities and maximise school attendance.
Applicants must have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a young person or family related area and have a full driving licence and use of a car.
