Java Developer – Automation Engineering (Short-Term Testing, Long-Term Dev)£55k–£70k | UK-based | Hybrid | Full-timeA fast-moving tech team is looking for a solid Java developer to join them in a unique automation-focused role. You’ll be helping convert manual test cases into automated ones, building out the testing framework, and solving real technical challenges. It’s not a long-term testing role, the goal is to transition back into full development once the automation side is up and running.What you’ll be doing: Writing clean Java code to automate existing manual test casesTackling technical challenges in a fast-paced environmentWorking closely with developers to raise the automation barEventually moving back into the core development team What we’re looking for: 3+ years of Java experienceNo testing experience required, just a willingness to learnStrong technical problem-solving skillsSomeone who’s happy to own their work and grow with the team Why this role?It’s a great opportunity for a developer who’s curious about automation and wants to make a real impact in the MedTech world without getting stuck in testing forever.
