- Statkraft trades energy products in more than 20 countries and is active on 13 energy exchanges. Proprietary trading takes place mainly from trading rooms in Oslo, Düsseldorf, London and the Unites States. Statkraft trades power, natural gas, carbon certificates, dry bulk products, metals, oil and petroleum products in the global markets.

- Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our oil trading desk and support fundamental analysis through modern data and AI workflows. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with ability to work with data and hands‑on experience applying AI tools to real projects.
- This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Head of Oil Trading and learn more about financial energy commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards, data pipelines, and visualisation tools to support daily trading workflows.
- Scrape, clean, and structure large datasets from multiple sources for fundamental analysis.
- Utilize our tools and infrastructure to integrate new data sources. Responsible for storing and transforming data into formats suitable for analysis.
- Use AI tools ( agent frameworks, automation tools) to summarise, filter, and analyse data more efficiently.
- Develop scripts in Python and SQL to accelerate analysis.
- Experiment with new AI capabilities and propose ways to apply them to trading‑desk problems.
- Support traders with rapid data exploration, pattern detection, and insight generation.
- Work closely with traders to understand their data needs and translate these requirements into functional projects.
- Maintain clear and well-documented code to support team understanding and project continuity.
- Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong skills in Python, with excellent knowledge of Pandas and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Proven ability in using SQL and working with relational databases.
- Experience with dashboarding tools such as Dash, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Must have personal projects or coursework that demonstrate experience in a complex codebase focusing on scraping and processing data, building APIs, and visualizing outcomes.
- Hands‑on experience applying AI/LLM tools to real projects (e.g., building agents, using APIs, automating analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable projects.
