Payroll Manager | 3-4 Month FTC | £60,000 FTE | Retail Business | London based (3 days per week in the office) A well-known retail business is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join on a 3-4 month fixed-term contract to support payroll continuity ahead of a transition to an outsourced managed service. The role offers hybrid working and a handover period with the outgoing post-holder. This is a hands-on role requiring Frontier Chris21 experience and a strong understanding of payroll operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage payroll for 500 UK-based employees using Frontier Chris21.Process new starter checklists and P45s for leavers.Upload monthly commission, hours, and staff purchases.Calculate weekly supervisor takings and quarterly manager commissions.Run and reconcile payroll reports, correct errors, and transmit RTI files to HMRC.Finalise payrolls, process BACS payments, and distribute payslips and P60s.Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and keep the team updated.Maintain and update payroll manuals and ensure confidentiality.Lead and develop the payroll team in line with company policies.Support the transition project to outsourced payroll services. Experience Required: Essential: Frontier Chris21 payroll system experience.Strong Excel skills (manual time and attendance tracking).Retail sector experience preferred Interested?
