Your new companyA public sector client, based in Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Democratic Services Officer on an interim basis initially for a 3-month period, although this may extend. This role is working mostly remotely, although you will need to attend meetings in person, which tend to take place in the evenings. This is likely to be approximately once a week and meetings start at 6pm.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with prior experience in democratic or member services or local government governance. This is a full-time position or could be worked in 4 days a week. Your new roleYou will provide specialist governance advice and support to the Council and its directorates regarding the decision-making process. You will provide essential committee and governance support, which includes agenda planning, convening meetings, decisions and recommendations, agenda point follow-up to the Executive and Council for regulatory and scrutiny functions. You will offer advice to the elected members and senior management.You will support the continued maintenance of the Forward Plan and have excellent knowledge of Issue Manager system. What you'll need to succeedYou will ideally have previous experience as a Democratic Services Officer, or in Governance within the public sector.
