- Purpose of the Job
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activity of a team of Inside Sales Engineers in order to delivery exemplary levels of customer service. Responsible for the team’s performance in working alongside the External Sales team to build strong relationships with customers by the efficient turnaround of requests for technical quotations. Acts as a point of escalation for the team and collaborates with other departments (Contracts, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing etc) to ensure the customers’ requirements are met in full.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the Inside Sales Engineers
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provides informal guidance to more junior staff
- Provides input into performance reviews
- Works with minimal guidance from the Customer Service Manager
- Occasionally leads the work of small project teams
- To coach the team in providing exceptional levels of Customer Service
To support the Inside Sales Engineers in the following key tasks
- To respond swiftly and accurately to all customer queries within pre-agreed timescales
- Performs a range of mainly straightforward tasks including: Produce Sales Quotations, Pre-qualification documents, Technical Proposals and any other form of information required by the customer / potential customer in the pursuit of achieving sales input and customer satisfaction
- Ensure quotations are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion, to maintain departmental KPI’s
- Ensure accuracy of quotations, technical documentation, customer Purchase Orders and any other related documentation prior to issue to Contracts for booking in
- Progress/chase outstanding quotations within pre-agreed timescales and report accordingly
- To maximise the potential of key accounts and new business with existing and new customers
- Solves problems, using existing solutions and contributes to process improvements
- Continues to build knowledge of the organisation, process and customers
- Qualifications
- Essential
- Strong Customer Service experience with typically 5 years’ experience in a relevant role
- 3+ years of Team Management experience
- Has in-depth knowledge of the Inside Sales Engineer’s role
- Basic Engineering or Technical knowledge
- Desirable
- Experience in using ERP Systems
- Degree or Engineering/ Technical Qualification -entry level role (or equivalent)
